I can understand how difficult the political stuff is for you, as I have gone through many permutations myself. I voted for Hilary and Biden. I have been a Dem all my life. I believe in the values of the worker, the middle class and fairness in general.
As the homeless suffer on American streets, I cry for them. A toxic train wreck in Palestine, USA was ignored as the people in that area still suffer from hideous poisoning. People in Hawaii got no government help. People in the Carolinas were flooded and the government did little and at times prevented civilian aid workers entry into the area. The FEMA money went overseas to a prosperous country, for what?
Then this administration busted the train workers strike. All they wanted was time off with some compensation, but they were ordered to go back to terrible work conditions. The list goes on and it is a wretched record of indiscriminate carelessness on the part of our so-called party.
While my granddaughters suffer from extreme high rent and low pay jobs, this administration has imported 20 million unvetted foreigners. What will that do to the workers? I am a poor old womun who has to work. How am I to survive without a husband? How am I to help my granddaughters? They could use government cash cards, but they are not illegal migrants, so they are ignored.
I too, am having a hard time with the current government. They are not the Dems that I knew as a young person. These are not my people. They seem to be like the characters in the "Body Snatchers" movies. They do not listen. We the people have been asking for Medicare for all for the past 20 years, all and we get is corporate control over every single so-called choice of my doctor.
Our Congress prints money to send to foreign countries to pay their health care, their pensions and kill in their wars. What is happening here?
At the very least, Trump has pledged to use diplomacy, which is the better part of valor, in my opinion. He has also pledged to clean up the toxic food supply that plagues American health. I don't know how this will turn out, but I could see that the current administration is not doing any good for my people, or for me. I can barely afford food now. My pregnant granddaughter sends me texts that she's hungry. In America. She has been working since she was 16. She's a good citizen.
