Just so you know: Language is Yang. Chemical life is Yin. Language is ephemeral, meaning it has no physical properties. Chemical life is mundane, meaning it has only physical properties.
I heard Robert Hand say the quote above in 1997. I got it from a bootlegged tape from his lecture somewhere in California. I still have it. And I still have a cassette player to listen to it. That statement sent me into my current ravings about Yin and Yang along with my Kabbalistic adventures.
The physical world is made from a cascade of chemicals: carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen, oxygen, phosphorus and sulfur. Our bodies and our stuff are all made from these basic Yin elements. Stuff is Yin, feminine, negative, magnetic, receptive. Can you understand how those properties are the same? The word, feminine has been polluted with too many definitions, so leave it out of the mix and just ponder the openness of the other three.
Negativity has a terrible reputation, but it is a simple property of creative space that allows entry into itself. We have made it sad or bad, depending on the situation, but in science negativity is a dent, an inverted space.
Magnetism is my preferred description for the character of Yin because it precludes the passive trope that femininity is helpless victimhood. Far from it, She calls in the Yang, like the Sirens of Odysseus’ story. Yes, she literally asks “for it.” I know the feminists don’t like hearing this, but chemistry is real. I see the femme deity as an attractor force rather than a completely inactive entity. In other words, She is an Agent of creation.
Reception is best understood as the catcher’s mitt. Throw a baseball. The ball itself is an object, thus Yin, but its motion at high speed is Yang. The catcher holds up the target that receives the activated object. The mitt receives a whalloping packet of energy. Sexy, huh?
There was a time when the Chemical Lady God got all the press. It was a long time ago, and there are no written records because She and the People of that era were all illiterate. I know this pisses off the New Age GodEss people, but by definition, the godEss is illiterate. This is not an insult to Her Divine Essence! No. Words are not her job. She communicates through demonstration, dance, song and telepathy, which is projected imagery. She uses the a chemical world, understood through aromas, pheromones, vibration, and barometric pressure.
Modernians believe that illiteracy is bad, because, writing and reading make us smart and being smart is a modern virtue. Does it, though? We all understand the difference between “book learning” and “street smarts,” but parents still want their kids to go to college. That trope is disintegrating before our eyes. Moving on.
Is it smart to go out into the dark without any understanding of the neighborhood? Is it smart to ignore that feeling that something isn’t quite right? Do you feel your chemical cocktail in motion when reading a brilliant novel? Of course you do. Great writing invokes the elemental cascade that brings us into our chemistry.
Today, words are changing too fast to keep track. Try talking to someone about any subject. After sincere questioning and defining of terms, you will realize that you two were not on the “same page" at all. Mercury/Loki, the god of words is the Trickster. Words are not our friend, unless…. We temper them with emotional intelligence; chemistry.
It takes effort to harmonize with another.
Everyone on Earth has his/her own personal interpretation of what another person says to them. Can you get a “feeling” from a person that attracts or repels you? Yes you can, but culture taught us to disregard that so called “feeling.” Children are not allowed to say “no” to many experiences because of “training.” They need to learn how to function in the material world, the actual chemical world, by ignoring the chemical responses that flow through them. They grow up and they are us, confused about how to handle our feelings, our moods and depressions. Wondering why oh why that crazy dude did a crazy thing, becuz he couldn’t express himself otherwise - chemical wise. Or maybe he was chemically challenged. My cat bit me when I overstimulated the fur on his back. Cascades.
We are trained to believe words over '“feelings” to our detriment.
Balance would be better. Yin balancing Yang. The chemistry of balance. How to proceed?
Is there a more reliable language that connects rather than separates? Plant and animal live quite effectively without words. They speak the Ess language; chemical exchange.
Can you smell danger? Is laughter contagious?
Ess communicates through chemical interactions. She interprets ideas in sound. She sniffs out intention as the fleeting aromas of love and longing waft through a room. She feels a threat in her gut. No words for that.
Modernia sez that the physical body is a meat suit replete with sin. That description is rather hateful and undereducated, because I believe the Meat Suit is the feminine Deity, incarnated with the light jizz of the masculine deity. The Meat Suit is a miraculous chemical sensory organ that responds to its environment with exquisite intelligence.
To say there is only One God, and to call him he, and to praise his farawayness, is to relegate the living Yin chemical cascade to the garbage dump. Is this why we poison our planet with toxic chemicals? Because it is only dead meat? Because God is not here?
(Sidebar: we are currently poisoning Earth, which may be godEss’s revenge for our disrespect. Her chemical power is poisonously subversive!)
Children learn what they live.
Pharmaceuticals are now gospel. Did you take your soma? What? You don’t take any pills? You must take pills or the world will be too challenging for you and then you could make trouble. And you wouldn’t want to make trouble, now, would you?
Take the pill cures. Chemicals, the feminine language. Oh, and did I mention that oil is essentially Yin, godEss stuff? Interesting how the supposed patriarchy is getting rich with Ess’s stuff. Who is in charge? Yin or Yang? What say you, reader?
Go Outside now.
Thank you Starsinger. As a lifelong professional musician and amateur astrologer, I feel where you’re coming from with the Femininity of the physical universe thing...
I started reading Robert Hand in 1984, as a 21 year old. Understanding harmony and harmonics in Music led me directly into Astrology. If we brought back the Quadrivium, it might even be worth going to college 😅
