Question:
“I have Mars conjunct Pluto in sag in 1st house and I scare a lot of people especially at work (squares my MC). I'm afraid of my force and wonder how to channel it effectively.”
Great question!
Mars is the lower octave of Pluto. They reside, six octaves apart, on the center pillar of the Tree of Life. The center is our reality, neither Yin nor Yang, but both. They both represent the act of union.
Plutonic union is like the fusion of atoms that create extreme energy release like stars going supernova. Martian union represents reproduction in both its forms, sex and death. You don’t have the product, life on Earth, unless you burst forth and break an egg.
In other words, both Mars and Pluto destroy to create.
People with Mars rising are often fighters. They naturally go at life with a sharp stick, so to speak. People with Pluto rising also go at life with a sharp perspective, but it is not so primitive as a knife or a stick or a sharp word. They use the power of nuclear fusion. It’s deep and mysterious. Plutonic power is world changing, and this sort of change is frightening because it requires the complete annihilation of the status quo. Your energy threatens the person’s status quo. In other words, knowing you, hanging out with you will probably change something about them and this can be worrisome to others. You may not even be aware of your effects upon others, but you will be wise to pay attention to your own wants and needs so that you don’t project them on to other people.
You must know yourself; your destructive power, before speaking out. You must understand the complications around winning. Mars wants to win. Pluto is the highest octave of winning and decimation. Mars stabs the enemy in the heart to kill him. Pluto blows up the world to destroy the enemy, his city, his planet and ultimately him/herself. Because Pluto is The Two Into One on a cosmic level.
Yin and Yang meet at a crossroad. The name of those roads is You.
Sagittarius represents perspective and knowledge.
Full perspective requires far travel. One cannot know the whole picture until one stands back to observe and then moves to another point of reference to make observations from a new perspective. The Sagittarians who operate from multiple perspectives become the brilliant philosophers, professors and historians that inform and challenge our ideals and customs.
The Sagittarian who does not challenge his own perspective with the above qualities and actions becomes a blowhard, pedantic, mean spirited jerk who would rather control minds rather than broaden them. In my words, this is the guy who Believes His Own Bullshit, a liar who forgot that he once fabricated his story and now believes the fabrication. His story has become his false idol. Yes, this can get downright biblical.
You can see why it so important for you to fully understand the power of your personality! The requirements for wielding this power of yours, are professional curiosity and above all, the most important quality will be MERCY.
Chesed, Mercy
The kabbalist name for Sagittarius, the ninth house and Jupiter/Zeus is Chesed. It is a yang/masculine energy on the right pillar of the tree of life. It is located on the right side of the throat, and is partner to Gevurah, which is rigor, severity. These two are the royal couple that determine the Truth you Speak about yourself. Merciful speech combined with disciplined action are required.
The Sagittarian path requires inquiry, study and the open mind. At his best Zeus dressed like a commoner to discover the ways of the world. He hid his royal identity and played in the fields of farmers. This means that he did not carry his identity around for all to see. He knew himself and that was all that was needed. The people would get to know him as one of them. We must come down off the royal throne to know ourselves completely because everyone, even kings, are made of Yin clay and Yang breath.
People will naturally feel the furnace within you. The crown weighs heavy on a king. Sagittarius is the Yang fire of the mind.
But Mars and Pluto are Nexus points. Points of Yin/Yang union. Central. The moment of fusion. The One Flesh.
When you feel the urge to offer advice to others, make a joke instead. Learn to be jovial. Zeus is at his best when galloping through the woods.
Advice For Mars Rising
When you want to cut someone down with a sharp word or deed, ask yourself “Why did this challenge come to me, on this day?” The best reaction will be to laugh at yourself with joyful abandon. “Yeah, that was a knee slapper, all right!”
The worst reaction is to pretend that you know best or better. The thing is you probably do know better, because you can see right through people, but that is the scary part for them. You know how it goes when you look at the back of a person’s head and they instantly turn back to see who is looking their way? Well this happens to you from the front.
There’s a lot of wet heat coming from you, so maybe the best control over this monster is ice water. Lot’s of cool drinks and a dose of clean mountain air. Cool logic. A stone monument in green hills.
Good Luck!
Love, Jewell
To my dear and special readers, I am going slow these days as Jupiter and Uranus are both transiting my ruler’s house #12. This means that I am downloading data like crazy. Notes and notebooks fill and I can’t keep track of them as they slide from table tops, then are neatly stacked where I may never again see them. Paper towers. So it goes for now. The Powers want me to tell you stuff, to encourage you, to befriend you. I’m just an artist. Arting. Channeling the stuff that strikes me in the eye, the ear, the hand. I see, I hear, I write. But now I must stop because Batman will not move away from the screen and the fire in the other room is hot! Big love.
Thank you for a most engaging Jewel of a post 😆
Mars and Pluto in fusion... Interesting...
My wife and my daughter (who is not my wife’s daughter) both have their natal Mars at 2° or 3° Aquarius so I will know soon enough how they blend the upcoming Pluto transit-by-conjunction to their natal Mars...
My son, on the other hand, (who is also my wife’s son) is a very strongly Aries man, with Sun in tight, tight, tight cazimi with Mercury and both only a few degrees away from Mars, all in early Aries in his 5th House.
And he is a Mars/Pluto-ruled Scorpio rising with a 1st House Pluto in early Sagittarius forming a close trine to his triple conjunction in Aries...
My own natal Sun is 2° Aquarius, which is the same degree (+/- 1) as my aforementioned son’s natal Uranus and wife’s & daughter’s Mars, so all four of us will be having a plenitude - indeed, a superabundance - of Pluto transits over the next year or two...
Responsible execution of personal power for the collective benefit will be the key, I’m sure...
Thanks again for the post, Jewel.
p.s. I’m enjoying my reading of your book, God Gets Laid. I’m a slow reader but I’m well over half way through 😊
