“Fish gotta swim, birds gotta fly, I gotta love one woman til I die. To Ed or Dick or Bob, she may be just a slob, but to me, well, she’s my girl…” -Tom Lehrer “She’s My Girl”
“The Planets do not cause anything. We cause and contain the planets.” That is a paraphrased quote from veteran Astrologer, Robert Hand. He doesn’t know me, but I am his follower.
As I see it, he was implying something like this:
Our destiny is a path, a plan that is in effect, like the seasons, like the skin that you were born into, like the sun rising and setting. Destiny consists of the tools and talents you are born with. It is the rhythm of life. It is the stuff that we cannot change and do not want to change.
The effects of nature are fate. We are all destined to die. Everything that lives, eventually will die. Death is our destiny. Destiny is Yin. It is a state that exists. Sunrise, sunset.
Fate is how we deal with our destiny. Fate versus free will has been a major philosophical debate since we climbed out of the ocean. Fate is Yang, action and choice in dealing with the pathways that appear in our way. The way we choose is the way we win or lose.
How we use our tools/destiny makes a difference, and that use is what we call free will. What actions do you take at sunrise, sunset? Action makes a difference in the quality and the quantity of your life. When it is cold do you construct a hut or cry and shiver? Do you use your hand and your mind to make shelter? Or do you use your emotional strings to rope someone in who can build a shelter around you? Right or wrong doesn’t apply. If you do it one way or the other, the outcome will change. Go ahead and judge the choices, but judgment is an opinion, and the outcome remains ins spite of opinions.
Proactive approach versus victim mentality.
The answer is…. Horoscopes don’t do anything. Horoscopes are maps. You look at a map and follow the lines to get where you want to go. The map is destiny. If you walk to your destination it will take longer, but you might meet some fun folks along the way. That could change your fate. If you drive to your destination, you will arrive sooner and meet different folks when you get there.
Fate pivots around the actions we choose to take, while traveling on the journey to our Destiny.
Learning Astrology, Tarot, Akashic Records, Numerology, or any Esoteric Discipline will give you more tools for navigation. Stay on course or go off course. Either way, you will always reach your Destiny, so why not give yourself more options to fulfill your true nature?
Are you committed to “your girl” as she is, or do you want a different “girl”? Your choice. Your Fate. You can choose one girl or another, but either way you will lose them both.
My Zen-ish advice: A bird in the pond is in the pond. Aloha.
