3 Thoughts Presented Poetically

From my poetic life

Beautiful Girl

In a market. I hear voices heard on the next isle.

"We can go home now if you keep being bad"

A small voice speaks. Little mouse. Mumble, mumble, (I paraphrase). "But I am small and you are not listening"

"We will stop this now if you keep acting like a brat"

"Ok. I was just…."

Mouse voice requests an audience. Mumble, mumble, (another paraphrase)"I just thought about this thing and hoped you would have a conversation about it, with me."

They appeared at the end of the isle

The small one was shorter than a yard stick

Wearing a pretty black dress with white collar

Her hair in classic ponytails

dual curled ringlets

And nice shoes

The big one looked to be just under the length of two yard sticks

"We should go now, because of your behavior"

I asked myself,

"How can one so polite, so small be so powerfully bad?"

Being Famous

If you are so famous that people want to hear you speak,

Remember that they could never hear you speak

without the lady who clipped a tiny microphone 

onto your collar

They could never hear you speak without

people sitting in chairs

sorting diodes and component parts

that make microphones

They could never hear you speak without

Children digging in mines

For special metals

that create diodes

microphones, speaking devices, radio receivers, antennae, dials and switches

Lone Cowboy

You could never be the Lone Cowboy

without a horse to ride

You could never be the Lone Cowboy

if no one saw your silhouette against a setting sun

You could never be the Lone Cowboy

without someone to weave the cloth of your shirt

You could never be the Lone Cowboy

without the cows who die for your fancy boots

I eat them

Cows
